"In an effort to make professional counseling available to cancer survivors and to the Rochester community at large, as UsToo Chapter Leader I invited Dan Rosen and Dr. Kranz to facilitate a 90-minute discussion on the topic of "Sex After Prostate Cancer" at one of the group's monthly chapter meetings. To my amazement, the room was packed, standing room only. Survivors, and their spouse or significant other, at last had an opportunity to get answers to questions they were afraid to ask and had been keeping to themselves. In fact, for some, it was the first time they spoke openly about their fear, their guilt, their shame or depression. The warm, sincere approach by the Rosen-Kranz team to this very delicate topic was easily sensed by all in attendance. Dan Rosen helped these men realize that they are not alone in their struggle, that sexual fulfillment and partner satisfaction is still achievable in spite of changes in sexual function. Dr. Kranz helped spouses and life partners realize the importance of open, honest discussions with their loved one regarding feelings and most intimate desires. This single meeting was so well received by the group that the Rosen-Kranz team were asked to schedule and conduct a full half-day session where even more men and women affected by prostate cancer could benefit."   --Patrick Fisher, former Chapter Leader of UsToo Rochester

Grand Rounds: Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder-- Will there ever be a "pink pill"? The real scoop on Bremelanotide, Flibanserin and other treatments.

Monroe County Medical Society Presentation by Dr. Kranz

Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder is a prevalent sexual function concern among women of all ages, from 7% of premenopausal women to 16% of surgically postmenopausal women. Sexual desire is influenced by physiological, psychological, and sociocultural aspects. In 2018 the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health published guidelines for assessment and treatment of hypoactive sexual desire disorder outlining a biopsychosocial approach to this common concern. While we do not have a "female Viagra," there are now two FDA-approved medications for HSDD (Flibanserin and Bremelanotide). What is the rationale for these controversial medications? And why is there controversy?

Embracing the Body: Group Coaching

Join Dr. Pebble Kranz, Sexual Medicine Specialist, and Amanda Wattie, Somatic Sex Educator, for a 3 month group exploration of sexuality and pleasure as a healing and life-giving resource for our everyday lives.

IN-PERSON - We’ll meet 6 times over the course of 3 months.  Thru body-based exercises and experiences, as well as learning about the physiology of our bodies we will explore:

·         How to come home to our sexual bodies in an everyday, practical kind of way

·         How to trust in ourselves and our pleasure, letting that lead, rather than our mind

·         How to attend to what’s well within us, to use pleasure for healing

Based on our past group work, we have developed a general road map for where we are going and how we can get there.  However, we are most willing to abandon the map and let the group bring their questions, desires, and what they need.

ONLINE - We will also offer an on-going Facebook group to share resources and to create community.

Sundays 3:30 - 5:30 pm

9/22, 10/6, 10/20,11/3, 11/17 & 12/8

*Must be able to attend at least 4 group sessions

COST: $275

Group is limited to 9.

This group will focus on the needs of women and woman-identified people.
